I am so totally screwed

I'm smitten.  Terribly, horribly, irrevocably smitten.  I did some volunteer work today at the county Animal Shelter, so I basically spent a couple hours petting some dogs and cuddling with a couple kittens.  And I completely fell for one of the kittens.  His name is Jax, and he's this adorable bundle of black fuzz.  He liked climbing all over me (I had a shoulder cat most of the time I was holding him) and he purred almost the whole time.  And he's so friendly, and he's pretty loud too, and I swear his eyes are hazel.  SO  FREAKING CUTE!!!  I want him so bad.  Except my mom is allergic to cats, and there's no way I could hide him in my dorm room.  But, but, but, but..... WANT!!!!
