No. Death is simply a part of life, and once a person comes to terms with that, they can live life to it's very fullest, rather than putting it off for another day, another time when they're in a better situation to go do whatever. So, in other words, to quote two movies: "Death is just a part of living." And: "To die shall be a great adventure."

Also, my life is very sad. Especially on a Saturday... I keep watching the trailer for "It's the Rage" on IMDb just to see Gary Sinise dance like that. It has not yet failed to make me laugh.

^ haha, but have you seen the film?! it's such a shame, the film overall really is pretty crap, but he is fucking hilarious in it. the pasta scene is just painfully funny, i actually have to cover my eyes. it's on the same level of cringe as "i love waterfalls" :)

No, I haven't seen the whole thing. But just watching the trailer makes me laugh, because Gary Sinise dancing like that.... it's beyond words. Just... laughter.

i've been desperately trying to rip it for someone but i can't do it :( (shhhhhh obviously)

it's annoying because he is just so funny in it which is a change from his normal film roles. i do have a couple of clips on my itunes but nothing substantial. there's a lovely bit when he's lying on a bed with his head hanging backwards over the edge playing on his gameboy, i like that. but the pasta scene is simultaneously the funniest and most cringeworthy thing ever, it's awful! but good! he asks his assistant on a date (but in his house, as he won't go out) and tries to eat pasta with chopsticks.

..... I can't even visualize that. Although, I can almost visualize the past scene. But, I really can't stop watching the trailer, because the last bit is him dancing, and it has yet to fail to crack. me. up.

haha, yeah, one of those you can't believe it til you see it things i think!!

it cracks me up too, all his bits in that film do - there are one or two other decent bits in the film too but overall it's pretty bad, which is a shame. he gets some good lines too "delete europe!" :D

I just wanna see it to see him as a character like that.

yeah, i was the same, i like it when he does stuff that's a bit different. same with a midnight clear, it's quite nice to see him do a different kind of soldier, the shell shocked nervous cautious kinda soldier instead of the likes of lt dan.

Yeah. His typical character is so, self-assured, and strong, and confident, and commanding, it's nice to see him just kinda let loose with a character.

exactly :) i think that's why i like true west so much too, austin is very atypical as well, kind of geeky and downtrodden, and only really lets loose when he gets drunk, and even then all that you really get is utter desperation, there's no confidence or anything in him at all. i really relate to austin actually which is probably a bit worrying.

I really just need to start making my way through his movies.

i'm sure it won't be too much of a chore ;)

It is when you're a college student. He's got a lot of movies, of which, I've actually seen 2.

i'm a college student too! which two have you seen? i've seen *almost* everything i think - there is one tv film i can't seem to find anywhere, and the steppenwolf grapes of wrath, but i'm a bit of a completist geek ;)

Forrest Gump and Apollo 13. And the last 20 minutes or so of "Fallen Angel" which was a TV movie for Hallmark channel(I think).

yeah, it was - omg mushiest thing ever. well maybe not quite, it could've been a collaboration between hallmark and disney! i didn't hate it as much as i expected (probably because of the eye candy and i could kind of understand his reasons for making it) but omg every single cliche in the romantic drama book thrown in. it was almost funny, you could have a list and check things off :D

Well, it was a hallmark movie. That's kinda their specialty: uber-cliche, uber-mushy movies. And the scenes with the little girl were pretty cute. I should write a list... Dunno about including "Open Season" as one of them. On the one hand, it's really a cliche in animation, on the other, he does voice for a character who goes kinda crazy.

From: [identity profile] talkingtocactus.livejournal.com
haha, yeah, i know, but even so!!! it was just..... it was a bit like drowning in a sea of sugary mush.

ooh i forgot open season - i liked his character (because he went kinda crazy and was a bit evil) but otherwise thought it was crap :(

Yeah, the reviews I've seen haven't been that great, but some of the "Behind the scenes" clips on IMDb make me want to see it just for his character.

Open season, you get to hear him play air guitar a la Bill And Ted, and he also sings (?!) the creepiest rendition of Teddy Bears' Picnic I've ever heard.

So you've never seen Impostor. Oh, you poor, poor thing!

Just don't ever see The Big Bounce. It's not worth it, trust me. Even Gary couldn't stop me from wanting that hour and some-odd minutes of my life back.

**Giggles madly** Ok, that I have to see(hear?).

What? I don't see that many movies in the first place! So I've been living under a figurative rock for most of my life. Now I know what part of my new year's resolution is.

**winces** Ouch. That bad?

I've got it on VHS. It's the only way I was able to find a copy of it.

Actually I don't know which is more love/cringe-worthy, the pasta or the ping-pong dance.

Date: Dec. 14th, 2009 10:48 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] whogeek.livejournal.com
I think the ping-pong dance is what's been making me laugh madly every time I watch the trailer. **giggles. Watches again** Yeah. Gotta be.

i agree, they're both pretty special :D the ping pong dance is funnier and the pasta is more cringeworthy. possibly ;)
