Ummmm, my sister is moving out?  I mean, really actually moving out, not just going off to college.  Parents went with her to get her stuff moved, so I'm kind of rattling around the house at the moment.  Weird.  Anyways, kind of wigging out about this suddenly.  I thought I was ready for this.

Also, got hooked on, not one show, but two!!!! ARGH!!!  White Collar is great.  I love Neal.  He's adorable and amusing and witty.  And I want to ruffle his hair.  YES, I have a bit of a hair obsession, do not judge me.  But the day I chose to watch some of the episodes, USA was also running episodes of Covert Affairs.  So I watched some of those.  And I decided I love Auggie.  He's such a great character!!  And the guy who plays him is amazing, because Auggie is blind, and he's got the can't-actually-focus-on-anything gaze down pat.  Love him to bits.  And Auggie probably knows more about the CIA than anyone else, but he isn't smug about it.  :D  Love him to bits!!!

how so? is it that you'll miss her? i couldn't wait to move out of my family's home when i was younger, i think i was 17. i admit that i didn't really give a crap if they missed me, i just wanted the hell out! i'm sure it'll be fine though - presumably she'll visit? and isn't going too far?

i keep hearing about white collar, it's on over here but i missed the start (by quite a few weeks) so i'll *ahem* find another way :D

It's suddenly hitting me that this is for real now. I guess you could say we don't have the "Typical" sibling relationship. Yes, we pick on each other and can squabble like mad, but we've always been supportive of each other. And the squabbling is usually just for something to do than actual annoyance with the other. But now she's like, 6 hours from home, which, admittedly is only 2 from my college, but still. She's not coming home again, at least not for more than an actual visit. I mean, I can't wait to move out myself, but right now I feel like I no longer have someone to commiserate with when the shit hits the fan at home. Was always nice to be able to sit with my sister and just lean against her while the parents screamed. I think it's weirding me out that for her, this isn't going to be home anymore. She won't be coming back for weekends with the family, or anything. I'm just going to miss her.

Anyways. Enough of me being misery-guts. I need to find someplace online that's got the pilot episode. Because I saw some of the season 2 episodes, and I haven't seen season 1 yet, and my usual show source doesn't have the pilot episode. :( Anyways. I'll just have to look around!

Every time I think about Covert Affairs, I just go "Auggie!" and end up squeeing madly because he's so freaking badass, but you'd never know unless he came after you because otherwise he's so freaking adorable.

And while I'm thinking about it, how would Auggie's laser-pointer 'cane' work? Like, would it vibrate if he was in danger of walking into something, would that be it?

And sorry, my thoughts are scattered because my meds are kicking in. I meant to mention in the first one that it took me a while to get over my brother moving out, too. In fact, I distinctly remember crying when he was packing up his stuff.

Of course, he moved back in two months later because he'd been living with our stepbrother and he was tired of being cold and poor and hungry, and he started paying Mom rent. So when he moved out again for good a couple of years later, it didn't hit me quite as hard.

It would probably vibrate or beep if he got within a certain distance of a solid object. I actually spent a little while geeking out about that, because it is an awesome design, lightweight, portable, and if necessary, you can stick it in a pocket/hang it from your belt! And he's just a normal person, and no one treats him differently. Which is awesome. Like that one guy from early CSI: NY, in the wheelchair, crap, can't remember his name. **facepalm** But yeah, it really is an awesome design, and it would be very effective once you learned how to use it. I love Auggie so frekaing much.

It's gotten a little easier. Not much, but I'm getting used to the idea. Helps that I'll be heading back to school on saturday.

Dr. Leonard Giles, played by J. Grant Albrecht.

And give it enough time. You'll get more accustomed to the idea.

Really going to work now. *foom*

And sorry that I keep forgetting these things.

I think I thought of Auggie as cool ever since the pilot when when we learned that he could tell women apart by both voice and smell (and he remembered all their names), but the crowning point for me was when he was thrown in the box with that agent and he said that seeing the dead body was really hot, and the agent said "You're blind," and Auggie was like "What are you, sightist?"

He kinda reminds me of a character I invented back in high school but never really put into anything. My character was physically blind, but had some sort of psychic 'sight,' and he was an elite sniper who could actually steer his bullets. That was the crowning touch, the mental image of a scruffy-haired, stubble-faced guy with a black silk blindfold and a scopeless sniper rifle. What do you want to bet Auggie's still a pretty good shot if he has a sound to aim for?

Going to work now. I'll stop bugging you.

Lol, I do that, so it's ok.

YES!! I can do that to some extent, because of being exceptionally nearsighted. Even if I'm not wearing my glasses/eavesdropping/feigning sleep/doing other things and watching tv I can recognize voices really well. I think that was one of my favorite lines there.

I was a pretty good shot before they figured out I couldn't actually see the circles of the targets at camps and such. I could hit the paper, and usually pretty close to center, and I couldn't actually aim properly. I have no doubt that if Auggie had to fire a gun, he'd be able to at least hit his target, given a moment or two to home in on it.

I'm liking Covert Affairs more and more. I have to say that this is one of the few times I'd actually approve the female lead hooking up with the UST. Auggie makes a great best friend, but I think I'd actually like to see him dating Annie.
