I hate my insomnia.

So, it is 3 something in the morning, and I'm still awake.  Fuck insomnia.  At this point, I think I'm just insane.  Which, entirely possible.  Also, I don't think I've ever written as much fanfic as I have in the last few weeks.  It seems I've found my home fandom in Hawaii Five-0.  And apparently, watching SGA and having insomnia makes my brain come up with weird fic ideas.  Involving a, gasp, horrors! self-insert of myself as, oddly enough(or maybe not oddly, but just, well, not my actual field of study) a botanist with the gene who has bouts of insomnia.  Which, kinda weird, but not.  I did consider horticulture.  But anyways.  Despite all the fandoms I've gotten into(and out of) and written for, Hawaii Five-0 has definitely kicked it into high gear.

Also, according to shanachie_quill , I am Joe Flanigan.  Only, shorter, stockier, with lighter hair and internal reproduction.  I kept complaining about my cowlicks being itchy, and explained that I have seven of them on my head, and if I cut it really ridiculously short, it would do pretty much the same thing that his does.  And occasionally, they make my scalp itch whenever I touch them.

I'd regale you with loads of trivia I picked up with my Joe-obsessed best friend, but unfortunately I can't remember most of them right now. I do know that his hair is sentient enough to rebel against anything that might possibly be used to style it. I think it was a part for Women's Murder Club where he had to have his hair styled, and they had to ask the special effects department for some clear substance strong enough to hold down his hair. And about halfway through the filming of the scene, little locks of hair started going sproing!

Yet another BN AU has flung itself into my head: wing!fic. Seriously. I was reading some fantastic Destiel wing!fic and these sentences just started flinging themselves at my head. And it won't stop. *rubs temples* If this keeps up I'm going to be right back where I was with CSI:NY: an unfinished main series, vampire series, and wing!fic (though as of yet I haven't gotten muses for BN furries, wolves, or space colonists).

ROFL. **pets you** I'll tell you something, I have several muse sets for H50. I have my Grace series, which is happily sprouting and growing in one corner. I have a supernatural series, where Steve is a shifter(one base form, can learn others), Danny's a telepath, and Chin and Kono are 'elementals' that can manipulate earth and water respectively. I have the muses for my prompt fic, in which Steve is a selkie and Danny is part selkie. And I have the guys where Steve and Danny do the undercover gay bar thing, and Steve is wearing leather pants. Oh, and a new one-shot they're trying to get me to write where they're both wearing really really well-worn jeans.

I have to admit, I miss your CSI:NY stories. :(

I love supernatural AUs. I'm looking forward to the elementalist angle and how you try to rationalize it, i.e. Michael manipulating fire because he's a pyrokinetic.

I miss 'em too. Every once in a blue moon I might get a random burst from one of them, but it's usually only a couple of lines and I mull over the scene so much that when I get time to write it down, I've lost most of it. At the very least, I really wanted to finish We Don't Die. I never finish anything. Just like my Oblivion mods; I get burnt out on something, new tricks, and start a bigger, newer one. Classic AD/HD and my revolving door of hobbies.

Mmmm, I don't think I actually rationalize it. In my verse, elementals are the least understood of all the supernaturals. None are really understood at all because of the stigma most of the world, and especially armed forces/public service, put on being a 'sup' and, in their eyes, better than the rest of the normal grunts. Hawaii(and other places with frequent natural disasters of various kinds) is a little more accepting of elementals than most places. Supernatural abilities aren't really studied at all. If you have it, you hide it as well as you can and hope no one finds out.

Yeah, it's already pretty far along, and I've got a bit of later on, after the team has cemented as a team, when they find out that Danny is a telepath. I'll send you a snippet of that one in a bit.

And yeah, I can see Michael with the peregrine wings. Incredible. I like the description of Michael's view of Sam-with-wings, and I can totally see it. Kinda makes me wonder what kind of wings I'd have. XD

For some reason, with supernatural AUs, I like the idea of animal instincts being there. And of course this is going to be Michael/Victor. I think this is before Carla shows up and Michael's out flying for this one job and Victor catches him in midair and they fly tandem and in contact (with a knife at Michael's ribs), and because it's been so long since it's been a mainstream behavior then neither of them realize that it's a lot like the old birdlike courtship rituals, so... *shrug* I'm just kinda playing around with it, not planning on it going very far (but then again, that's what I thought about WDD in the beginning, too).

Oh yeah, and Steve, definitely has some trouble with his instincts telling him to protect his pack and act like they're pack. I can send you the part where Danny figures that out as well. :)

The NY!wing!fic never really went anywhere either. Mostly it's a collection of snippets based on "five times wing!Mac and wing!Danny had sex, and one time where Mac got his ass kicked in midair and might have almost gone 'splat!' if it wasn't for Danny and Flack." Never really had a storyline for it. The BN one is different, mostly because I don't know if it would be possible for me to write a plotless one-shot for it.

Yeah... I'd still like to read that. :D lol. I hear that one. The leather pants fic? Something like 6,000 words and 12 pages, and it's still not done. Which is kind of ridiculous, considering it was supposed to be a short, hot little thing. But.... the boys decided they wanted plot, Kono started scheming, and Chin rolled his eyes and rolled with the punches. And yes, I have ensemble muses for H50. Including Grace a lot of the time.
